The main terminal is Umeda, next to JR Ōsaka station. The terminal is in the Hankyū department store! From Umeda to Jūso, the three main lines (Kōbe, Takarazuka and Kyōto) have their own double-track line - so total 6 tracks in parallel.

Since 1984, there is no track connection between the northern and the southern sections of Imazu line at Nishinomiya-kitaguchi. The semi-express trains between Takarazuka and Umeda bypass Nishinomiya-kitaguchi station on a track without platform.

Many local trains between Takatsukishi and Awari continues continues on the Senri line and Ōsaka Subway Sakaisuji line. Both Hankyū and Ōsaka Subway rolling stock is used for the throughtraffic. It happens that Ōsaka Subway trains runs through to Kyōto.
