Abukuma Abukuma Kyūkō     Abukuma Express

Abukuma kyūkō (Abukuma express) 1067 mm     20 kV 50 Hz AC
Tsukinoki - Marumori opened in 1968 as JNR Marumori line. In 1986, the line was transferred to Abukuma kyūkō. In 1988 was the rest of the line opened. The nickname of the line is "Abukyū". Between Fukushima and Yanome block station (4.7 km), the line is using JR Tōhoku tracks. The fastest train makes the train in 1h09 - an average of 48 km/h. There is 1 train/hour running the whole line and quite a few trains running on sections of the line. A few Abukyū trains continue on JR to Sendai.
