The name "Keihin Tōhoku Line" is used for the local trains on
Tōhoku Line Ōmiya - Tōkyō and Tōkaido Line
Tōkyō - Yokohama. At most sections, the Keihin Tōkoku Line
has it's own tracks. Today, all trains continue on Negishi line - most of them
to Ōfuna.

1944 was the sea side line completed. In 1962 was the old route abolished
between Rifu and Shinainuma.

day.
Tōhoku ("Eastnorth") is the common name used for the northern part of
the Honshu island. Tōhoku line is the old main line from
Tōkyō to the north. Replaced by Shinkansen for long-distance
travel. Used by local trains and the night trains. Important commuter line in
the Tōkyō area.
Between Ueno and Kuroiso is also the endearment name "Utsunomiya line" used.
The Tōhoku line is also used by other lines on their way out from
Tōkyō station.

This section is used by all medium- and long-distance Tōhoku line trains
between Ueno and Ōmiya. The original line is only used by the
short-distance Keihin Tōhoku line trains Tōkyō -
Ōmiya and, between Nippori and Tabata, by Yamanote line trains.
